Three types of tapes
insulating black tape
The first type is insulating black tape. It only has insulating function, but does not have flame retardant and waterproof performance. Therefore, this type of tape has been gradually eliminated from the market. Nevertheless, this tape can still be used in some civil building electrical fields.
PVC electrical flame retardant tape
The second type is PVC electrical flame retardant tape. This tape is not only an insulating tape, but it is also flame retardant and waterproof. However, it is made of PVC, which makes it less malleable. It is unable to wrap the joints completely and tightly, which may affect the waterproof effect. This kind of tape is widely used in several fields.
high voltage self-adhesive tape
The third type is high-voltage self-adhesive tape. This type of tape is particularly suitable for high voltage levels, and its superior ductility makes it even better at waterproofing. Nevertheless, it is not as strong as PVC electrical flame retardant tape. For this reason, these two types of tape are often used in conjunction with each other in practical applications.
