Flame retardant properties
Since melamine foam is made of melamine foam, melamine foam does not need to add any flame retardant or other additives. It can meet the requirements of the following standards: Class B1 low flammability material standard; UL94-V0 high flammability material standard of American Insurance Association; BS 6853, NF F16-101, DIN5510 fire certification of the European Union; and Class B flammability standard of GB/T8624-2006 of China's national standard. The flame retardant property of melamine foam is shown in three aspects:
- Rapid carbonisation: It does not form flame in contact with open fire, no droplets occur, the surface is carbonised immediately, isolating oxygen and slowing down the reaction speed.
- Stop when leaving the fire: Once the open flame leaves, the foam stops burning immediately, no sparks, no re-ignition.
- Low smoke density: Smoke is the main factor of personal injury in fire.
